    Movie Summary: 3 Idiots

What could be news important enough to land a departing plane? Who could be so important as to rush a man out of his house without pants?

The name of that man was “Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad”. He was one of the funniest, most interesting characters I’ve ever seen.

In the movie, Rancho and his two friends (Farhan, Raju) are starting India’s best engineering school. The school has a typical education system in all aspects, where competition is at the highest level. Everyone has adapted to this system, except Rancho. Rancho’s different point of view marks the film with both its humor and depth from beginning to end. Rancho’s different perspective changes his pessimistic friends, the prescriptive school president, and all of us at the end of the movie.

I have not come across any other film that tells so many messages about life with such a funny plot. The realism of the characters and the way the events are connected have greatly increased the quality of the scenario.

The shooting angles, the lighting, the music used throughout the film, and even the choreography of the dance scenes -which is in almost all Indian movies- were of very good quality.

In terms of acting, I really appreciated the acting of Madhavan (Farhan), Sharman Joshi (Raju), Omi Vaidya (Chatur) and Boman Irani (Viru), especially Aamir Khan (Rancho). They’re all dedicated.

Even so; The crew got really drunk to shoot some of the funny scenes in the movie where the characters are drunk. Afterwards, the shots were more realistic, but they had to shoot scenes over and over again because of the alcohol, and they ran out of rolls.

We watched the movie with one of my high school classmates who was also my roommate at university. We were both science high school graduates and engineering students. We were tired from studying for years. When we were little, we were one of those kids who is considered right to devote his whole life to school and lessons, and who must be an engineer or doctor. That being the case, 3 idiots really affected us.

By the time the movie was over, all our negativity was gone. We discovered a truth about life, and understand ourselves a little more. Only after really good and effective movies can make this effect on us. 3 idiots was one of those movies and was worth watching over and over again.

    Key Ideas From Movie

3 idiots touches on many good ideas, with Rancho’s actions, his words, and the complementarity of his friends’ script. Here are the three that impressed me the most:

    “Do what you love most.”

Whether you have entered the best university in the world or made a career, if there is something you love more, chase it and go after it.

    “Always believe in yourself.”

No matter how circumstances develop, no matter how difficult the uncertainty, keep believing in yourself and what you’re doing. Tell yourself “Al Izz Well…” when it’s too hard. Everything will be fine at the end of the day.

“Have friends with you you can always count on.”

Whatever you are going through that day, always have friends with whom you can share your experiences. Be there for them when you are in trouble, be there for them when they are in trouble.
